Support GOTR by volunteering at the Fat Ass 5k & Street Party!
PIG_no date

Join us in downtown Springfield for the 8th Annual Fat Ass 5k & Street Party! The event will be Saturday, May 9th, and you can help us show our support by volunteering for this year’s event.  Volunteers receive a Fat Ass t-shirt and can select from several opportunities including packet pick-up before the race, course marshals, Pepsi truck and merchandise sales. A list of available shifts can be found on their website.

Girls on the Run of Central Illinois was recofnized as a charity partner for the 2014 event and received a $3,500 donation from the race proceeds. Special thanks to last year’s volunteers and to our Fundraising & Event Leadership Committee members who are organizing our 2015 efforts. Please be sure to enter “Girls on the Run” as your charity organization on the registration page!

Earn money for GOTR when you walk, bike, or run!
Charity Miles

Charity Miles is a mobile phone app that tracks your distance as you run, walk, or bike and makes a donation to Girls on the Run based on the miles you complete. It is an incredible opportunity for you to raise scholarship funds for Girls on the Run while doing an activity you love! Download the app for iPhone or Android today, and simply turn on the app, choose Girls on the Run as your charity, and press start.  As you exercise, Charity Miles tracks your distance and money earned (bikers earn 10¢ per mile; walkers and runners earn 25¢ per mile). Your zip code is recorded so local miles earned will be sent to our local Council. Get started today!
