We need your help!

Do you wish you had an awesome GOTR shirt just like Dave’s? It could be yours for free if you sign up to volunteer at our spring 5k on May 18th!

We are expecting over 1,000 participants at our event which means we’re going to need a lot of help to make this year the best yet! In fact, we will need the support of over 100 volunteers to make our 5k a success and ensure the safety of our girls.

No matter what your skill set is we have something for you! Volunteer positions include packet pick-up, water stop, course marshal, face painting, race sweeper, and many more!

Record Breaking Fundraiser!

Our 15th anniversary was LIT!
On February 2, 2019 we hosted our Light the Way celebration in honor of 15 years of Girls on the Run of Central Illinois.

Over 130 of our supporters came out to Ace Sign Museum for an evening of great food, signature drinks from Tito’s, a silent auction, Fund a Star live auction, and raffle. And because of everyone that donated their time, money, and energy to make this event possible, we were able to raise a record-breaking $30,000.

This year, we also had a couple of exciting things to share:

  • We unveiled our first ever professionally-made Girls on the Run video. It was powerful hearing directly from the girls about how our program has impacted their lives. Click here to check out the video.
  • We have a lot of dedicated volunteers who have given years of their time to our program. We wanted to honor them, so this year we gave a Star Power Award to the 9 coaches who have participated in at least 15 seasons. Those amazing coaches are listed below:

Michele Bates

Christi Becker

Sue Landgrebe

Angela Madison

Angi Resch

Deb Shultz

Gwen Smith

Christi Sullivan

Mary Tuttle
