Girls on the Run is pleased to welcome two new board members to our team! Jill Barth and Leah Hardy joined our board in July, and each brings their unique skills, talents, and perspective to our growing program.
Jill Barth is an HR & marketing communications consultant, as well as a writer and yoga instructor. Jill became involved with Girls on the Run because of the positive things she has heard in her community about the program. “There’s excitement and encouragement in every GOTR engagement,” Jill said. She also was attracted to the program because it gives girls a place for their minds and bodies to grow.
Leah Hardy has been a Girls on the Run program volunteer for seven seasons at Christ the King School in Springfield. Leah first volunteered when her daughter joined the program and says, “I stayed on after my daughter was through the program because I see her becoming a strong, confident teenager, and I enjoy giving other young girls in our community the tools they need to make smart choices and live a healthy lifestyle.” Leah is also a business analyst with Levi, Ray and Shoup, Inc.
Tammie Klein has been elected to serve as chair of the board for 2014-15, replacing Karen Carlson, who will serve as past chair. Tammie is a physician at Springfield Clinic’s Center for Women’s Health, and has been a GOTR volunteer, coach, and supporter for several years. Other board members for 2014-15 include Patty Hale, Bethany Jaeger, Jamie Kuhlman, Kristy Martin, and Jennifer Stice. Thank you to all of our board members and volunteers who give their time to support our girls!
