OCIF Underwater Half Marathon benefits GOTR

The Orthopedic Center of Illinois hosted an underwater half marathon to benefit Girls on the Run of Central Illinois on March 24th. The OCI offers an underwater treadmill for their physical therapy patients. However, the treadmill was used for a different purpose that day. On Saturday, the treadmill was used to benefit GOTR with individuals walking or running underwater. Each participant was to walk/run 1 mile for a completion of 13.1 miles. The event, along with a casual day fundraiser the day prior, raised over $2,300! Check out Channel20’S coverage of the event here.
